Hi, Welcome to My Web...
Sounds ominous, doesn't it? But don't worry, unlike some of my characters, I don't bite.
If you've come here deliberately (thank you!) you probably already know who I am. But if not and you chanced upon me, well, I'm author Karin Cox, an Australian writer who dabbles in many genres. If you're a fan, feel free to sign up to my mailing list for special offers and author news (I promise not to spam you and that I don't post like the blazes, seriously, only the good stuff, folks), or follow me on Facebook or on Twitter. I write for both children and adults, and both fiction and non-fiction. Basically, I write ... and I write a lot. I am also a freelance editor with a background in trade publishing, having worked as a senior editor for publishers in Australia and in the United Kingdom. I've also done some time as "The Invisible Woman," ghostwriting several memoirs and autobiographies, but I can't tell you the titles or I'd have to kill you (or, more likely, the authors would kill me). Currently, I'm the proud author of more than thirty-four trade-published titles, most published by New Holland Publishing and Steve Parish Publishing in Australia, and the recipient of two Whitley commendation awards for natural history writing. Indelible Ink Press publishes my ebooks: a poetry anthology (Growth), a book of short stories (Cage Life), and two children's picture books (Hey, Little Sister and Pancakes on Sunday) via Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing, Smashwords, Kobo, Apple, Sony and Barnes & Noble. My most recent release is the gothic paranormal romance novel, Cruxim. Like many writers, I am never short on ideas! I am currently working on several other projects, including a sequel to Cruxim, a romance novel (From Memory), a young adult post-apocalyptic novel (Float), and the three-part young adult fantasy series Day of the Danae Shee. I live in beautiful Queensland, Australia, where I write out on the deck overlooking the pool, listening to the squabble of galahs and sulphur-crested cockatoos. I am also the founder of the Indie Review Tracker website, a site that helps self-published authors easily find free or affordable promotional opportunities, and I blog about writing and editing for authors at Indie Review Tracker and at www.karincox.wordpress.com. If that doesn't keep me busy enough, I'm a regular contributor to Indie Chicks Cafe, where I blog about more personal subjects For more Q & A check out my FAQ page What Makes Me Crazy, And Why. |
